Suns vs. Clippers Prediction and Odds for Sunday, October 23 (Trust Clippers in Home Opener)
By Peter Dewey
The Los Angeles Clippers host the Phoenix Suns on Sunday night in their home opener for the 2022-23 season.
Los Angeles is in the second night of a back-to-back, but it held on to beat the Sacramento Kings on Saturday, 111-109. Paul George carried the Clippers in the win, as John Wall and Kawhi Leonard (rest) were both out.
Phoenix stormed back at home in its season opener to beat the Dallas Mavericks, but it hasn’t looked nearly as good as it did last year in the regular season to start this year. Yet, Devin Booker, Chris Paul and company are favored on the road against the now-healthy Clippers.

Suns vs. Clippers Prediction and Pick
Have I bet on the Clippers in every game they’ve played this season? Yes.
Am I doing it again tonight? Also, yes.
The Clippers scraped by with a win over the Sacramento Kings last night behind 40 points from George, but they didn’t have Leonard or Wall, who were sitting the first night of a back-to-back.
Now, the Clippers get both players back for their home opener against a Suns team that lost to the Blazers on Friday and needed a major comeback to beat the Mavericks in its season opener.
Los Angeles is still an extremely deep team, and I’m not sold on Phoenix as a road favorite in this spot after a slow start to this season, playing a few close games.
I’ll take the Clippers to win outright as home dogs on Sunday.
