The Suns were dealt some bad fortune with star guard Devin Booker going down with a hamstring injury, but the team responded well in Game 3 in New Orleans, winning 114-111 to take a 2-1 series lead.

The No. 1 seed Suns now look to take a commanding lead on the No. 8 seed Pelicans on Sunday afternoon at the Smoothie King Center. Chris Paul was impressive in the fourth quarter, closing the game out with his playmaking and finishing the game with 28 points and 14 assists. Can he follow it up?

Let's take a look at the odds from WynnBET Sportsbook before making a Game 4 bet:

  • Pelicans: +2.5 (-110)

Suns vs. Pelicans Prediction and Pick

It feels like the Pelicans squandered their chance to seize control of this series. Yes, Chris Paul put on a masterclass of decision making and late game shot making, scoring 19 points in the fourth quarter, but the Suns as a whole didn't play all that great on offense.

Phoenix shot 4-of-26 from beyond the arc in Game 3 while the Pelicans shot a mediocre 11-of-32 from deep. Not to mention, New Orleans made 2 more free throws. It's tough to swallow losing those games.

I think we see an uptick on the margins from the likes of Cameron Johnson, Jae Crowder and Landry Shamet to offset a predictable slight drop in Paul's production and the Suns end up taking care of business.

The Pelicans inability to stop Paul from getting downhill in the pick-and-roll and stop the Suns offense from in close is going to lead to a trickle down effect. If they overcompensate inside, there will be continued open looks on the perimeter for Phoenix. I don't think we see another 15% shooting game on Sunday while we know what the Pelican can give on offense.

Back Phoenix to separate from New Orleans and cover with ease.

LEAN: Suns -2.5
