Move over Babe Ruth, Sydney Sweeney is now in charge of cursing the Boston Red Sox.

The 24-year old actress threw out the opening pitch for the Boston Red Sox in their first game following the MLB All-Star break. Since then, the Bo Sox have lost by a combined score of 40-10.

That's not good.

As a result, the internet has dubbed this the "Sydney Sweeney Curse", and oddsmakers have responded. BetMGM has even dropped their World Series odds from +4000 to +5000.

Red Sox Issues Date Further Back Than Sydney Sweeney

In all fairness to the Euphoria star, the Red Sox had been stumbling before she threw the opening pitch a few days ago.

As our very own Ben Heisler points out, they're 1-9 in their last 10 games and have been on a five-game losing streak which has seen them get outscored 67-13.

There just happened to be an All-Star break wedged in there that helped people momentarily forget.

Even dating back to July 1, they rank 22nd in OPS (.676) and 23rd in team ERA (4.32).

They now open up a four-game series against the Guardians, and if you think I'm blindly betting on Cleveland at -110 because of the Sweeney curse, you'd be absolutely correct.

Sydney was on to something when she took to Instagram to address the curse yesterday. They should've just put her in.
