Syracuse vs. Florida State Prediction, Odds and Spread for College Football Week 5
By Thomas Snodgrass
The Syracuse Orange picked up a nice victory over the Liberty Flames last week, winning 24-21. Running back Sean Tucker ran for 168 yards and a touchdown in the win and has been a nice surprise this season, averaging 6.5 yards per carry and collecting seven touchdowns on the ground in four games.
Remember when the Florida State Seminoles were a powerhouse program? Well, they are 0-4 this year, sharing a winless season with the Navy Midshipmen, UMass Minutemen, Connecticut Huskies, Ohio Bobcats, UNLV Rebels, and Arizona Wildcats. The Seminoles are not in a cool group right now.
Syracuse will play its first ACC-Conference game of the season, as Florida State has already gone 0-2 in conference play.

Syracuse vs. Florida State Prediction
I like what Sean Tucker brings to this Syracuse offense. The Orange could just hand him off the football and grind down the clock in this one, much like they did last week with Liberty. The Seminoles' strong point on defense is stopping the run, but struggled against Wake Forest, allowing 225 yards on the ground.
Syracuse’s defense just rates much higher than Florida State’s defense in almost every way, and the Seminoles are allowing 31.8 points per game, while the Orange are allowing just 17.8.
Florida State is looking for its first win of the season, but they might not get it until its Oct. 23rd date with UMass. But after losing to FCS Jacksonville State, maybe that’s not a guarantee.
I’m taking Syracuse on the money line at +170 and on the spread at +4.5.
