Syracuse vs. Miami Prediction and Odds: Hurricanes' Offense Firing on all Cylinders
By Matt De Saro
The Miami Hurricanes are riding a seven-game winning streak and are set to host the Syracuse Orange tonight at the Watsco Center in Miami. This is an important early conference game for both of these ACC teams
The Hurricanes are 10-3 overall and have yet to lose a conference tilt; 3-0 in the ACC. The Canes are also 7-1 at home this season but just 4-4 ATS in those games. Despite the .500 record ATS at home, Miami is on a 2-0 ATS win streak. Their only home loss came against Central Florida back in early November. Tonight’s game will be the last of three straight home games against conference opponents.
The Orange, meanwhile, look to bounce back after losing by five to the Virginia Cavaliers as 3.5-point home favorites. It was the second game in a row that the Orange failed to cover and their ATS record in their last five games is 1-4. Syracuse is 1-1 ATS as a road team.

Syracuse vs. Miami Prediction and Pick
Miami’s current winning streak has a lot to do with their amazing offensive play of late.
On the season, Miami’s offense is above average and is averaging 76.4 points per game. However, in their last two games, their offense has exploded and scored 90+ points in back-to-back games. The Canes scored a season-high 91 points against North Carolina State and followed that up with a 92 point win over Wake Forest. While neither of those two teams are powerhouse programs, neither is Syracuse this season.
The Orange rank 286th in scoring defense after allowing 75.6 points per game this year so far. They also rank outside the top 350 in terms of assists allowed per game and assists per field goal made. While they are a decent offensive team, averaging 78.2 PPG, it matters little if they are unable to stop opponents from scoring at will. Opponents are shooting 45.7 percent from the floor and 36.3 percent from downtown. Those marks are 316th and 315th respectively.
With their poor defense and 2-7 ATS record on the road, I will be betting against Syracuse tonight. The Hurricanes are on a winning streak and their offense has set a season-high mark for points in two games in a row.
Pick: Miami Hurricanes -2 (-110)
