Syracuse vs. NC State Prediction and Odds ('Cuse to Earn Rare Win on the Road)

The Syracuse Orange are on the road tonight in primetime ACC action against the NC State Wolfpack.
The Orange are still looking for their first road win in more than a month since they beat Florida State by three in early December.
On the bright side, the Wolfpack are one of the worst teams in the ACC and are a prime spot for Syracuse to get back on track. After two games, and two losses, on the road, the Wolfpack are heading back home to lick their wounds.
NC State is 1-4 straight up at home since the start of December and was on an 0-4 run before beating Virginia two weeks back at home. The Wolfpack haven’t beaten the Orange since 2019 at home and I’m willing to bet that trend continues tonight.

Watching Syracuse continue to lose on the road has been frustrating because they have a pretty damn good offense. The Orange have the 32nd highest-scoring team in the nation and 57th in 3-point percentage at 36.2 percent. While their scoring defense is almost outside of the top 300, they just held Wake Forest to 72 points in their last game.
Their offense scored 94 in that blowout win. As long as their offense can outplay their poor defense, I think the Orange march into Raleigh and earn their first win of the year.
For one thing, the Wolfpack are 1-2 straight up in their last three games as favorites and are on a two-game losing streak overall. On top of that, despite a 7-2 SU record as a home favorite, NC State is just 3-8 SU in their last 11 games against conference foes.
Look, neither of these two teams is all that good. Both defenses are pretty terrible but I do give Syracuse the edge on offense. Syracuse takes a lot of shots and beat NC State three times in a row last season. I’m going to bet that dominance continues with ‘Cuse as a slight ML underdog.
