Syracuse vs. Notre Dame Prediction and Odds (The Orange's Offense Is Red-Hot)
By Matt De Saro
The Syracuse Orange have a lot to be happy about when they head to South Bend to take on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in Wednesday night ACC action. They are winners of two in a row and six of their last seven games overall.
The Boeheim brothers combined for 35 points in their last game with Buddy nailing a game-winner in overtime to beat Georgia Tech. The game prior they blew out the Boston College Eagles by 20 points at home. Another thing the Orange have going for them is that the Irish are coming off a loss to Wake Forest 79-74 and are trying to pull off a late-season bounce back.
Despite all of this, Notre Dame is no pushover and is favored to win this game at home. ND is also very good against the spread of late having covered seven of its last 10 games.
I think this game is going to be closer than the odds suggest and ND might be on upset alert here as the second-ranked team in the ACC. Here are the odds for this conference matchup, courtesy of WynnBET Sportsbook.
Syracuse vs. Notre Dame Odds, Spread, and Total
Spread:
- Syracuse +5 (-110)
- Notre Dame -5 (-110)
Moneyline:
- Syracuse +170
- Notre Dame -210
Total: 146 (Over -110/Under -110)
Syracuse vs. Notre Dame Prediction and Pick
If we’re just going on overall records, then the Fighting Irish are clearly the better team. They rank second in the conference, while the Orange ranks seventh, and have only lost once at home to an ACC opponent this year. But, I like the way Syracuse has been playing over the last week or so and I think it can win if it brings that fire again tonight.
The Orange were already playing well, especially on offense where they rank 26th in the nation in scoring, but they kicked it up a gear last week.
While their defense almost let them down against GT, the offense has been putting up great numbers for the better part of a month. Including a three-game stretch where they scored 94, 89, and 92 points against Wake Forest, NC State, and Louisville respectively.
Additionally, Notre Dame doesn’t fare too well as a betting favorite. Especially at home where the Fighting Irish are 4-5 ATS on the year and 6-6 ATS overall. Syracuse, meanwhile, is 4-2 ATS as a road dog and 5-4 ATS in all road games this year. I think ‘Cuse can win this game but I’m going to play it safe and take the Orange against the spread to keep it tight down to the wire.
Pick: Syracuse +5 (-110)
