Tampa Bay Bucs Could Sign Another Pro Bowl Free Agent
The Bucs clearly don't give a damn about what they did last year. That's just the attitude Tom Brady brings to a franchise.
Won a Super bowl? Ok great. Time to move on and try and win another one.
Taking their lead from the man in charge, the Bucs aren't done trying to add Pro Bowl power to their roster. Following the dislocated elbow injury starting cornerback Sean Murphy-Bunting suffered in the season opener, they touched base with former star corner Richard Sherman to gauge his interest in signing. Nothing's come of it yet, but it feels like Brady always gets his man and this could be his latest addition to an already star-studded roster.
Brady already bagged Antonio Brown and Leonard Fournette in free agency, playing a huge role in both signing with the Bucs over other options where they would have been featured more. Maybe now he turns his attention to the defensive side of the ball to shore up an area of need for Tampa? The Bucs are currently the second favorite to win the Super Bowl on WynnBET with +600 odds (bet $100 to profit $600).
Sherman is currently embroiled in legal controversy following his arrest in July on five misdemeanor charges, including DUI and trespassing. He could face discipline and suspension from the league following finalization of the legal process. However, that could extend beyond the season, meaning Sherman could play now and not be suspended this season.
The Bucs have competition for Sherman's services. The 49ers and Seahawks are also reportedly interested. But nothing makes more sense than the Bucs. He could start right away for them and compete for a championship this season. If Brady makes the call, it might solidify the deal.
