The Arizona Cardinals’ running back room is really banged up following their Week 5 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.

Starting running back James Conner went down with a rib injury and did not return in the game, as did backup Darrel Williams with a knee injury. That left Eno Benjamin as the team’s only healthy running back to finish the game against Philadelphia.

It appears the Cardinals are preparing to be without at least one of the backs in Week 6 against the Seattle Seahawks, as they are working out a group of running backs on Tuesday.

No matter who the Cardinals sign, Benjamin has become a must-add in fantasy leagues and a fantastic player to target for props against a Seattle Seahawks team that ranks dead last in opponent yards per play and second to last in points allowed this season.

While Conner is the clear lead back when he’s healthy, Benjamin has played well in a change of pace role this season. The former seventh-round pick is averaging 4.5 yards per carry this season and has totaled at least 23 rushing and receiving yards in each game.

Benjamin could break out with a bigger workload, and if you look at his season, he’s been consistently producing when given touches.

Eno Benjamin Game by Game Stats

Week 1: Seven touches, 51 total yards

Week 2: 11 touches, 51 total yards

Week 3: Seven touches, 23 total yards

Week 4: Six touches, 45 total yards

Week 5: 11 touches, 53 total yards, touchdown

Those numbers don’t jump off the page, but they have come with Conner dominating touches and snaps in the backfield. Last week was the first time all season Benjamin played over 50 percent of the offensive snaps, and he produced his highest touch count, yardage and scored his first touchdown.

This situation is worth monitoring in case Conner is able to play, but Benjamin is a terrific prop target, especially yardage wise, if he’s the lead back in Week 6.
