Temple vs. UCF Prediction, Odds, Spread and Over/Under for College Football Week 7

The Carolina Panthers just fired former Temple Head Coach Matt Rhule and boy would they love to have him back right about now. The Owls are 2-3 and at the bottom of the AAC standings. Last week UCF got a blowout win after Central Florida legend Blake Bortles retired from the NFL, so maybe Matt Rhule’s forced departure will give Temple a bump.

Temple vs. UCF Prediction and Pick
Eight of the 10 games these two teams have played have gone under the total and for Temple that is all about its defense that is 12th in the country. UCF on the other side is 41st in total defense and 18th in offense. UCF has had quite a few blowout wins this year, but the other side not holding up its end of the scoring is the reason for so many unders.
When UCF plays an inferior opponent, for the most part its dominated. The Knights won 41-19 over SMU just last week, 40-14 over Florida Atlantic and 56-10 over South Carolina State this season.
Though Louisville beat UCF and Georgia Tech’s 80th ranked defense held the Knights to 27 points. Temple is not a good team, but it has the defense to keep this game closer than the 23.5 point spread.
On this one I am trusting the trends. We saw John Rhys Plumlee dominate SMU last week, but that game was played last Wednesday because of Hurricane Ian, so Temple will have a huge rest advantage after last playing on Oct. 1.
I’m going with the trends here, because even if UCF does blow out Temple, I’m not sure an offense, whose leading rusher has 125 yards this year and starting quarterback has more interceptions than touchdowns, can score enough to clear the 46.5 point total.
