The Houston Texans had a real chance to spoil their former quarterback's return to the NFL last week, instead they lost 27-14 to Cleveland. That might’ve been the last stand for the 1-10-1 Texans who appear to be headed for the No. 1 pick in the draft already. Now, Lovie Smith’s team heads to Dallas for a meeting with the 9-3 Dallas Cowboys who just beat Indianapolis, 54-19.

Here’s a look at the odds for this one where Dallas is a massive favorite.

Dallas opened as 8 point favorites, but the spread has jumped well over two touchdowns to 17.5 points.

Texans vs. Cowboys Prediction and Pick

So, Houston’s loss to Cleveland was much worse than the score even says. It wasn’t their former QB coming back and destroying them, he played horrible, and Cleveland didn’t score an offensive touchdown. So, the Browns put up 27 points on special teams and defense. They had a punt return touchdown, and two defensive scores, plus two field goals. To lose by 13 to a team that doesn’t score an offensive touchdown is difficult to do, and that’s officially it for me, I won’t bet on Houston the rest of the year, there is no reason to. They don’t have the talent or the coaching to elevate their players.

Dallas put up 33 points in the fourth quarter against Indianapolis, they can score quick and dominate when they really turn it on. The Cowboys have one of the best defenses in the NFL. They allow just 17.2 points a game, which is third in the league and score the fourth most points, 27.8.

The Texans have the worst run defense in the league, so Tony Pollard and Ezekiel Elliot will run all over them and Dallas will win big. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Cowboys put up 30 in the first half and then stop applying pressure, much like Miami did two weeks ago.
