Memphis has continued the positive momentum going this season after an NCAA Tournament appearance in 2021 with a strong start that includes a win over Auburn and a competitive showing against Alabama.

The Tigers continue their SEC tour with a home game against Texas A&M, who is looking to build their non conference strength of schedule with a non conference win against a NCAA Tournament team. Memphis guard Kendric Davis was banged up in the Alabama game earlier this week, and big man Malcolm Dandridge is also out, will they hold up against a frisky Texas A&M team?

Texas A&M's defense can cause a lot of trouble for the Tigers, especially with their lead ball handler Kendric Davis banged up. Davis had 30 points and five assists on Tuesday in the loss to Alabama, but rolled his ankle in the final minutes of the game.

If Davis isn't 100%, the Aggies trapping defense will give the Tigers fits. Buzz Williams' team turns opponents early on nearly 25% of their defensive possessions, the 16th highest rate in the country. Memphis is heavily reliant on getting the ball inside, but the Aggies boast a strong interior defense, allowing a top 50 two-point percentage this season.

Memphis defense should keep a lid on the Texas A&M offense, but the Tigers are prone to fouling, sending opponents to the line at a bottom third rate nationally. The Aggies are a physical bunch, who get to the line at a top 10 rate. That will help them stay within this big number on the road.

With Davis not 100% for the Tigers and the Aggies ability to get to the charity, I'll take the underdog.
