Texas A&M vs. LSU Prediction and Odds: Expect Hard-Fought Defensive Battle
By Matt De Saro
Both the No. 19 LSU Tigers and Texas A&M Aggies are in need of a win to put the skids on their respective losing streaks. The Tigers enter Wednesday night on a three-game losing streak while the Aggies have dropped their last two in a row.
It's strange to see a ranked team go on such a losing streak, but the Tigers have tumbled from the 12 spot and are one loss away from falling out of the top 25 altogether. LSU has lost to Arkansas, Alabama and Tennessee during its streak and has dropped all the way to eighth place in the SEC with a 3-4 conference record.
Things are a little better in Texas where the Aggies remain in third in the SEC despite losing back-to-back games to the Kentucky Wildcats and Arkansas Razorbacks.
Both teams have elite defenses but have been let down recently by inconsistent scoring and rebounding. Here are the odds for this SEC matchup, courtesy of WynnBET Sportsbook.

Texas A&M vs. LSU Prediction and Pick
While both teams are falling off the pace in the SEC, I think LSU is in a worse spot than Texas A&M heading into this conference clash.
For starters, the Aggies barely lost to the Razorbacks over the weekend in overtime. The Aggies were at least able to cover as nine-point underdogs. The game before, they were also underdogs and secured an ATS win over Kentucky.
For comparison, LSU recently lost to Arkansas by seven points in regulation and failed to cover as 6.5-point favorites. So, the Aggies have close back-to-back losses against better teams. and teams they managed to cover against.
Meanwhile, the Tigers are getting beat by underdogs and favorites alike. They are 1-2 ATS during their short losing streak while the Aggies are 4-1 ATS in their last five games. As an underdog, the Aggies' last ATS loss was in early December.
As mentioned above, the Aggies have one of the better defenses in the conference and rank 45th in the nation in points per game allowed. They need a little work on their rebounding, but overall this is a scary defense that is holding opponents to around 40 percent shooting.
While the LSU defense is much better on paper, the Tigers have been playing very poor ball the last couple of weeks. Overall they rank sixth in the nation with an average of 58.1 points per game surrendered. However, they allowed the Volunteers to score 64, the Crimson Tide 70, and the Razorbacks 65. In fact, the Tigers haven’t held a team to under 60 points since their win over LA Tech in mid-December.
All signs are pointing to another ATS win by the Aggies as an underdog in conference play.
Lean: Texas A&M +10.5 (-110) | UNDER 131.5 (-110)
