A pair of one-loss SEC teams meet in Starkville in hopes of remaining part of the SEC race.

Mississippi State disposed of non conference Bowling Green on Saturday as the team got back on track after losing to LSU the week prior. They face a Texas A&M team that has responded well to a quarterback change, inserting Max Johnson into the starting role, and winning two games against ranked foes in Miami and Arkansas.

Will A&M stay hot with the new quarterback, or are mounting injuries going to hold them back?

Let's check out the odds for this SEC showdown.

Texas A&M vs. Mississippi State Prediction and Pick

A&M may has won its prior two games, but it may be a bit fortunate to do so. The team's defense did a tremendous job keeping the Hurricanes out of the end zone, but were outgained by more than 100 yards in the win.

Last week, the Aggies were out-gained again and needed a 99-yard fumble recovery as well as a field goal off the top of the upright to hold off Arkansas on a neutral field.

The offense continues to sputter and the team is now down their top receiver Ainias Smith. So, no I'm not buying the A&M two game winning streak.

While the Aggies defense continues to be nails, I'm going to trust Mike Leach's air raid offense to get on track and win their first SEC game of the season. The offense has been able to put together scoring drives at a national average rate while A&M is outside the top 100.

If there is one way to beat the A&M defense, it's through the air. The team is outside the top 100 in havoc rate and are outside the top 80 nationally in explosive pass defense. The quick hitting Miss. State offense will be able to get the ball out quickly and put points on the board.

The Aggies don't have the offense to keep up with the Bulldogs on the road, and the injuries are mounting. I like Will Rogers to do enough to get Miss State the win and cover at home.
