Texas Southern vs. Texas Tech Prediction and Odds for Thursday, November 10 (Texas Tech Offense To Be In High Gear)
By Josh Yourish
The Texas Tech Red Raiders have kicked off their 2022-23 campaign in the top 25 and they’re looking to stay there through the early, soft non-conference portion of their schedule. Their first game against Northwestern State was not much of a test, the Red Raiders took it, 73-49.
Texas Southern could be a different story, this team won the SWAC last year and ended their season against Kansas in the NCAA Tournament. So, let’s check out the odds for Texas Tech and Texas Southern.
Texas Southern vs. Texas Tech Tech Odds, Spread and Total
Texas Southern vs. Texas Tech Prediction and Pick
Texas Southern started their season off against San Francisco and got themselves into a real shootout with the Dons out west. A 90-77 loss on Monday showed Southern’s ability to score the ball, but also how much they can struggle to stop their opponents.
Last year, Texas Southern was a solid defensive team last season, but if San Francisco was able to put up 90, then Mark Adams' team is going to score with ease. Texas Southern has an experience team that returns their leading scorer, John Walker III and fourth leading scorer PJ Henry from last season’s team. Walker III had 17 and Henry had 21 in the last game.
Texas Tech will rely on Kevin Obanor to lead a balanced offensive attack. Daniel Batcho led the scoring with just 12 points in the Red Raiders first game. It’s a small sample, but Texas Tech is a step up in competition for Texas Southern and their defense was already in shambles against San Fran.
Pick: Over 135.5 (-115)
