Texas Tech vs. Kansas Prediction and Odds (Back Kansas at Home)
By Reed Wallach
Kansas had to come from behind on the road against in-state rival Kansas State on Saturday, winning on an Ochai Agbaji jumper in the final seconds.
However, the Jayhawks are going to need a more complete effort if they want to exact revenge against Texas Tech, who beat them two weeks ago 75-67.
Who has the edge in this rematch? Can Kansas impressive home court advantage be the difference? Here are the odds from WynnBET Sportsbook.
Texas Tech vs. Kansas Odds, Spread and Total
Spread:
- Texas Tech: +7 (-110)
- Kansas: -7 (-110)
Moneyline:
- Texas Tech: +240
- Kansas: -300
Total: 138 (Over -110/Under -110)
Texas Tech vs. Kansas Prediction and Pick
The key to beating Texas Tech is shooting. The Red Raiders completely shut off the middle of the paint with their 'no-middle' defense. The team allows the fourth highest three-point rate in the country, so the Jayhawks are going to have to stay hot from three. Bill Self's team is top 50 in the country at doing that behind Agbaji's insane 45% clip.
It's worth noting the Jayhawks did shoot well from the perimeter in the first meeting, 10-of-26, but struggled on the defensive glass and closing off the interior. The Red Raiders shot 61% on two pointers and were +6 in terms of offensive rebounds.
The spot does scream to back the Jayhawks considering head coach Bill Self has been swept in Big 12 play twice, but the line feels correct at -7. I'd advocate for playing Kansas on the moneyline as a parlay piece with another favorite below -120.
The Jayhawks have the three-point shooting but must do their part on the defensive glass to limit the poor shooting TTU offense to one opportunity (they are shooting 26% from three in conference play).
