The No. 6-seeded Texas Longhorns will look to pull off its first upset of the year and take down the No. 6-seeded Purdue Boilermakers in the second round of the NCAA tournament. Texas took down the Virginia Tech Hokies in its first matchup, while Purdue stomped Yale out of the tournament.

The winner of this matchup will face the winner of No.7 San Francisco and No.15 Saint Peter's. There's a great chance either Texas or Purdue can get to the Elite 8 with this draw. Who will take advantage and move on?

Here are the odds for the matchup via WynnBET.

Texas vs. Purdue Prediction and Pick

As the resident Texas Longhorn on the staff, I want to warn you from falling into this trap. This is where Texas likes to get you. The Longhorns, in nearly every sport, do just enough to make you trust them and then they let you down.

The game against Virginia Tech was an anomaly. The Longhorns shot 52.6% from three. Throughout the season, they shot 32.9% -- 229th in the country. Texas caught fire, but don't expect that to happen again.

This is a team that lives on its defense. While you can win games like that, it has been shown many times this year that Texas needs more. The Longhorns struggled towards the end of the last game and I'm prepared for a loss to come at the hands of the second-best offense in the country. Purdue is efficient from all three levels and has no problem playing in a slow game.

Unless the Longhorns have another stellar day from downtown, the Boilermakers will be the ones advancing to the Sweet 16.

Lean: Purdue -3 (-110)
