TCU is quietly putting together a strong at-large big for the NCAA Tournament that includes a win over the weekend at Iowa State. Now they look to take care of business in Fort Worth against in-state rival Texas, who has struggled to keep up with preseason expectations but are still getting respect in the betting markets.

Can the Longhorns cover as road favorites? Let's dive into this Big 12 showdown in the Lone Star State, but first here are the odds from WynnBET Sportsbook.

Texas vs. TCU Odds, Spread and Total

Spread:

  • Texas: -2.5 (-110)
  • TCU: +2.5 (-110)

Moneyline:

  • Texas: -145
  • TCU: +125

Total: 122.5 (Over -105/Under -115)

Texas vs. TCU Prediction and Pick

The Longhorns have dropped their last two road games and struggled to pull away from Oklahoma State at home on Saturday. It may not get easier for UT as it faces a similar defensive minded foe in TCU on Tuesday and are laying more than a bucket.

The Horned Frogs defense has been fantastic this season, 15th best in the country and playing their best ball in conference play. The team has the best defensive rebounding rate in the Big 12 and are limiting opponents to less than 29% from beyond the arc.

However, their offense remains a major concern. The team has scored more than 60 points once in five Big 12 games despite a 3-2 mark. They win ugly, which could be handy against Texas who plays slow and has struggled to find an offensive identity amidst transfer pieces and first year head coach Chris Beard.

TCU's offense may struggle against the Longhorns turnover-centric defense (top five in the country) but they do make up for their poor shooting with the second best offensive rebounding percentage in the nation.

It's tough to back the Longhorns as short road favorites given the product they have put on the court. Not to mention, the Horned Frogs are confident as they have won at home and on the road in conference play. In what is shaping up to be a barn burner, I'm leaning towards taking the points with the home underdog.
