The Chicago Bulls Have Championship Value

Are the Chicago Bulls... back?

Only time will tell, but the Bulls are second in the Eastern Conference and are one of three teams around the league with 10 wins. Meanwhile, Chicago is without Patrick Williams for the foreseeable future, Nikola Vucevic is out due to COVID-19 and are in the midst of a brutal schedule featuring a gauntlet of playoff teams.

Through nine games, the Bulls have gone 6-3 -- which gives me hope for their postseason chances.

WynnBET currently has the Bulls’ title odds set at +4000, and I see some value there. Obviously it’s the regular season and things will change in the playoffs, but the Bulls are legit and should be at least looked at for the title.

Right now, I would have the Bulls as the third-best team in the East, behind the Nets and the Bucks. If the bracket shakes out, Chicago would only have to play one of them to get to the Finals. At +4000, even if it’s just as a shot in the dark, taking a chance on the Bulls as a dark horse to win the Finals isn’t the worst idea.

Just last year, we saw a Phoenix Suns team climb its way to the top of the Western Conference and go up 2-0 in the Finals. Chicago could be this year’s version of the Phoenix Suns.

DeMar DeRozan has been fantastic for the Bulls, as well as “automatic” Lonzo Ball and Alex Caruso. Once Vucevic returns, the Bulls will have three legitimate offensive threats with him, DeRozan and LaVine.

On top of that, the Bulls really have my attention moving forward because of their defense. I wasn’t a big believer of their defensive potential coming into the season, but the Bulls are 5th in the league in defensive rating and have the fourth-best net rating in the NBA.

If Chicago can keep the defensive pressure up, they can beat a Milwaukee team that’s looked sluggish or a Nets team that might not have Kyrie Irving when it matters.
