Three golf majors are in the books for the 2022 season following Matthew FItzpatrick's second career victory at a familiar home at The Country Club in Brookline, Mass.

Fitz defeated Will Zalatoris by a stroke to claim the 2022 U.S. Open championship. The first major championship for Fitzpatrick was also his first win on the PGA Tour, although he had won seven times previously on the European Tour before coming over.
Runner-up Will Zalatoris was once again near the top of the leaderboard on the Sunday of a major, but fell just short for the third time in his young career.
While Fitzpatrick and Zalatoris had great weeks, so too did BetSided's Iain MacMillan; who wrote up the top two finishers as two of his best bets for the week!

Now, the golf world turns their attention to St. Andrews Links in Scotland, the birthplace of golf for the last major of the season. The Open (formerly known as The British Open) takes place on Thursday, July 14, and concludes on Sunday, July 17.
Will Tiger Woods Play at The Open?
Back on June 7, Woods informed the United States Golf Association that he would not compete in this year's U.S. Open, and would instead plan to play at The Open at St. Andrews instead. There has not been any updates to Woods' statement, so from all accounts, he'll be in Scotland competing.
I previously informed the USGA that I will not be competing in the @usopengolf as my body needs more time to get stronger for major championship golf. I do hope and plan to be ready to play in Ireland at @JPProAm and at @TheOpen next month. I’m excited to get back out there soon!
