Aaron Rodgers heads back to his home state for a critical NFC showdown against the 49ers in a game that's being overlooked by some because of the big game between the Bucs and Chargers in So-Cal.

While most bettors are looking at standard bets to fill their nightly need for action, I'm looking at an original offer on WynnBET that asks who will combine for more passing and receiving yards, Aaron Rodgers, Davante Adams and Robert Tonyan or Jimmy Garoppolo, Debo Samuel and George Kittle. If you like the former to win the odds are -115. If it's the latter, the odds are -105.

I'm taking the Packers trio and it's all about the defensive matchup.

So far this year, Green Bay is giving up just 193.5 passing yards per game, which is seventh-best in the NFL. Their top cornerback, Jaire Alexander, is one of the best in the league and will likely shadow Samuel most of the game. Kittle, meanwhile, had 17 receiving yards last week. While I don't expect a similar performance this week, I think the 49ers game plan will be focused on running against the Packers. That's because Green Bay gives up 139.5 rushing yards per game, third worst in the NFL.

On the other side, the 49ers give up 245.5 passing yards per game, which is 14th in the NFL -- not bad but not good either. Their rushing defense isn't much better than the Packers', giving up 133.5 yards per game on the ground. But I see the Packers trying to build on the passing success they had in Week 2 against the 49ers on the road.

Looking at the offensive match ups, you also have to like Rodgers and Adams over Garoppolo and Samuel. Kittle has a big advantage over Tonyan, but I'm banking on Adams and Rodgers to win the battle over their counterparts more so than Kittle over Tonyan.
