The Detroit Tigers and the Cleveland Guardians will end their series today, with the Guardians looking to keep the Tigers near the bottom of the division. Cleveland is sending Shane Bieber out on the mound to pitch, and he’ll go against Beau Briske.

The Guardians are still several games behind the Twins in the division, but right in the heat of the wild card race. Will they be able to gain some ground going into the break?

Odds listed are from consensus sportsbooks:

Tigers vs. Guardians Odds, Run Line and Total

Run Line:

  • Tigers: +1.5 (+100)
  • Guardians: -1.5 (-120)

Moneyline:

  • Tigers: +205
  • Guardians: -225

Total:

  • 7.5 (Over: -115/Under: -105)

Tigers vs. Guardians Prediction and Odds

I understand the Guardians are a much better team than the Tigers and Shane Bieber is a great pitcher. But I’m going to go into the All-Star Break with a bang. I’m backing the Tigers as underdogs.

Bieber is coming off a complete game, in which he only allowed one run and three hits. However, the four games prior to that give me reason to be concerned. He gave up 3.5 runs per start in that span.

If Bieber returns to that form, then the Tigers are definitely live to win this game. In the last series, Detroit swept the Guardians. The Tigers have it in them to beat Cleveland and I think they’ll end this series on a high note.

Lean: Tigers ML (+205)
