Interleague action at PNC Park continues on Wednesday when the Pittsburgh Pirates host the Detroit Lions in the finale of a short two-game series. It sounds weird to say but the Pirates have looked great over the last week with a 6-1 record in the seven games leading into this series. Among those wins was a three-game sweep of the very dangerous Los Angeles Dodgers.

Things over the last week have not been going the Tigers' way after getting swept by the New York Yankees over the weekend. Detroit now trails the Minnesota Twins in the AL Central by double digits and is fighting to finish the season out of the basement.

Can they make up ground today or fall deeper in the division?

Tigers vs. Pirates Prediction and Pick

The Tigers’ season has been full of bad news but they might be in for a bit of luck today. Mitch Keller will toe the rubber for Pittsburgh and things are not going well for the 26-year-old this year. With a 5.77 ERA and 1.56 WHIP, it’s safe to say Keller is a liability on the mound.

While he has gone three straight games without giving up more than two earned runs, he still hasn’t sold me on his turnaround. Two of those games were very very short starts against two low-level offenses in the Rockies and Cubs. The other start was good to be fair to Keller. He went five innings against the Dodgers and allowed two earned runs.

However, he walked five batters in I've innings and displayed shaky command throughout the start. Additionally, while the current Tigers lineup is pretty bad, they are hitting a combined .345 against Keller with five extra-base hits in 41 at-bats.

The Tigers will lean on Alex Faedo to keep the Pirates bats at bay. Faedo sports a 3.09 ERA and 1.31 WHIP for Detroit and has yet to give up more than two runs in his six total starts. He’s nothing to write home about but is a low risk to get into too much trouble against the Pirates.

Pick: Tigers +100 ML
