Tigers vs. Royals Prediction and Odds for Friday, April 15 (Pitching Matchup Gives Under Value)
By Joe Summers
After Detroit won the first game of this series 4-2 yesterday to snap a two-game losing streak, the 3-4 Tigers hope to get a winning streak going as they take on the 2-4 Kansas City Royals tonight at 8:10 PM EST.
Kansas City has now lost four straight after winning their first two contests of the season and will send Brad Keller to the mound in hopes of ending their skid. Keller threw six scoreless innings and only allowed two hits in his first start against the Guardians and aims to build off his stellar performance.
Tarik Skubal gets the nod for the Tigers. He gave up four runs and seven hits over four innings in a loss to the White Sox in his first outing but Detroit has optimism he'll quickly turn things around.
Are they correct? Will Skubal bounce back to take advantage of a meager Royals' lineup or will Keller continue his hot start to snap Kansas City's four-game losing streak?
Here are the odds from WynnBET as we find value in this Tigers vs Royals matchup:

Tigers vs Royals Prediction and Pick
We're one week into 2022 for my hometown Kansas City Royals and there's been two highlights so far:
1. Bobby Witt Jr.'s game-winning and game-saving plays in the first two games of the season.
2. Brad Keller's absolutely dominant performance against Cleveland.
You never want to already have a four-game losing streak just six games into a year, but at least they get Keller back on the mound today! He was electric in every way last week, limiting hard contact while maintaining control of all of his pitches. The 26-year-old righty has always shown flashes of excellence, but the Royals are optimistic this is the year he finally puts it all together and the early returns couldn't be more promising.
Detroit has their own youngster oozing with potential on the mound today in Skubal, who got lit up in his first start. But a matchup against Kansas City's offense could be exactly what the 25-year-old flamethrower needs to get going. Over his final 44 innings last year, Skubal only surrendered 19 runs. 11 of those came from two disastrous outings, and if you remove those he gave up just eight runs over his last 36 innings.
I don't trust the Royals' offense whatsoever, but I do trust Keller. Three of the last four Tigers' games went under and I expect that to continue in this one. We've got 11+ MPH winds coming in from center field at Kauffman Stadium today and that'll only help our under. This should be a low-scoring contest behind strong outings from Keller and Skubal.
Pick: Under 8.5 (-125)
