The Minnesota Timberwolves continue to surprise teams in the NBA since the All-Star break. They are less than a game behind the Denver Nuggets for the No. 6 seed and 1.5 games behind the Dallas Mavericks for the No. 5 seed. This game will have serious playoff implications behind it, making it extremely important.

I've backed the Mavericks in their last two games and have gotten burned, so I'm going to try to other side of this matchup. The Timberwolves have been playing great basketball as of late. They are 9-1 in their last 10 games and have won four games in a row.

Minnesota's net rating during March has been five points better than the next team. The Mavericks will be one of the better teams they've faced and should be a defensive battle. The Mavericks are top 10 in defensive rating this season, while the Timberwolves are 0.1 points away from being in the top 10.

Both defenses are set to show up, which makes me believe it will be a close game. With the way the Timberwolves have been playing, it's hard not to be on their side.
