Titans vs. Jets: Odds, Spread, Over/Under and Prediction for NFL Week 4
By Reed Wallach
New quarterback, new coach, same old Jets.
New York has been unable to get anything going through the first three weeks of the Robert Saleh and Zach Wilson era, and now welcome the AFC South leading Tennessee Titans.
Can the Jets get their first cover, let alone first win, on Sunday at home?

- The Jets are 0-3 ATS this season
- Mike Vrabel coached Titans teams are 5-7 as road favorites
I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I’m backing the Jets as home underdogs. I understand that this team has been putrid on offense, but there is reason for hope against the Titans.
In the first two weeks of the season, the defense provided zero resistance to the Cardinals and Seahawks, allowing 30 points in each, and then faced a hobbled Carson Wentz-led Colts offense. Indianapolis scored a touchdown on one of three tries in the red zone and converted 25% of their third downs, Tennessee was lucky not to allow more than 16 points.
The Jets defense has been solid under new coach Robert Saleh, league average in defensive rush success and top 10 in pass success. New York has been plagued by a ton of turnovers and offensive incompetence, but they have faced three elite defensive units in the Panthers, Patriots, and Broncos, the Titans are a far cry from that. Tennessee has forced one turnover in three games. If Wilson can limit the mistakes, the Jets offense can put some points on the board.
I’ll take the touchdown and the hook with New York to stay competitive and maybe spring the upset against the Titans on the road, who are riding a bit too high on the backs of a flukey win against the Seahawks and a competitive one against a banged up Colts team.
I’m not sold that everything is fine with the Titans offense sans offensive coordinator Arthur Smith, who took the Atlanta Falcons head coaching job, and will likely be without wide receiver A.J. Brown, who is nursing a hamstring strain.
I make this game closer to 5, so give me the points.
Pick: Jets +7.5
