Titans vs. Texans Prediction: Tannehill's Injury is Trouble for Tennessee

The Tennessee Titans got the 19-10 win over Indianapolis last week and now at 4-2 are in control of the AFC South. The Texans are down at the bottom of the division, 1-4-1. The Raiders downed Lovie Smith’s crew last week, 38-20. However, Houston has had success against Tennessee over the years and Ryan Tannehill will not be 100% if he can play at all.

The Titans are the favorites in the division, but on the road how big of a favorite will they be in Week 8?

Titans vs. Texans Prediction and Pick

Tennessee is 1-7 ATS in their last 8 games in Houston. NRG Stadium has been a house of horrors for the Titans. Tennessee has won four straight after an ugly start, so water has to find its level eventually. I don’t think this team is as bad as two straight bad losses or as good as four straight wins.

Ryan Tannehill’s offense has not been high scoring, they are averaging under 20 points per game, 21st in the league. Tannehill was limited in practice on Thursday, and it's unclear whether he will play or not. He is completing 65% of his passes and has a 92.6 passer rating, the third highest of his career, but he only has six touchdowns to three picks -- just a very pedestrian year with AJ Brown gone.

If Tannehill does play, he will be limited. If he does not play, it will be Malik Willis. Willis was a third-round pick, who has first round talent. He is just far too raw to be able to win NFL games right now. In the preseason he was electrifying as a runner, but if a team can prepare for that he won’t be as effective. Also, we know that Lovie Smith's Tampa 2 defense will sit back in zone, force Willis to make throws and have eyes on him at all times. Mike Vrabel even pulled Willis from a preseason game because he wasn’t throwing the ball enough. That’s concerning.

Pick: Texans ML +125
