Tom Brady Has Enticing Touchdown Prop in Week 1 vs. Cowboys
By Peter Dewey
Tom Brady is still one of the NFL’s most-feared players, even at age 44, and he’s looking to defend another Super Bowl title in Week 1 against the Dallas Cowboys.
Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers bring back every starter on offense and defense from last season, and receiver Mike Evans already thinks that the team’s offense will be even better in 2021 than it was last season.
If the Bucs are seriously better than they were in 2020, the rest of the NFL, especially Dallas in Week, is in trouble. Tampa Bay put up the third-most points and the seventh-most yards in the NFL last season on its way to the Super Bowl, and now O.J. Howard is back from a torn Achilles and ready to contribute this season.
Brady has elite weapons at every position, but oddsmakers aren’t expecting him to have a monster performance in Week 1. WynnBET has Brady’s passing touchdown prop set at 2.5 for Thursday’s season opener, but the over (+160) is a massive underdog.
And I’m here to tell you right now that I am very intrigued by those odds.
Last season, Brady threw for three or more scores in seven regular season games, but he didn’t have a game with less than two scores from Nov. 15 of last year through the Super Bowl win over the Kansas City Chiefs.
That tells me that the offense was finally clicking on all cylinders, and Brady posted three or more scores in six of his final 11 contests last season (including the playoffs).
Dallas allowed the fifth-most points in the NFL last season, including the fourth-most touchdown passes (34). Micah Parsons should help the defense at linebacker, but the Dallas defense is still very suspect heading into Week 1.
I think Brady exposes Dallas for a huge game in Week 1, and if you’re going to give me +160 odds for him to throw three scores, I’ll gladly take it with all of the weapons the Bucs have.
