Tom Brady Will Go Under on Passing Yards Prop vs. Bears

The Chicago Bears allowed Matthew Stafford to collect 321 yards and three touchdown passes in Week 1, but have not allowed a 300-yard passing performance since. That was also the only game so far this season where the Bears defense would allow 30 or more points.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have a pass-first offense, leading the NFL in passing yards per game; 44-year old Tom Brady is the center of it all, averaging 344 passing yards per contest.

WynnBET Sportsbook has set Brady’s passing yards prop at 296.5 yards (Over: -112/Under: -110). But will the passing attack be the focus in the Bucs game plan against Chicago?

The Bears allowed 154 rushing yards to the Green Bay Packers last week, and with Tampa Bay’s rushing offense beginning to get its legs underneath it, they could take the pressure off Brady and shoulder the load with their backfield tandem of Leonard Fournette and Ronald Jones.

The Bucs will already be without receiving corps options Antonio Brown and tight end Rob Gronkowski, so this game could have a slower clock-burning rush-first scheme.

By using a “three-yards and a cloud of dust” approach, Tampa Bay would apply pressure to Chicago’s rookie quarterback Justin Fields to find the endzone often for the Bears to survive this matchup.

With injuries to the Buccaneers defense as well, playing Week 7 without linebacker Lavonte David, cornerback Carlton Davis, cornerback Richard Sherman, and potentially linebacker Jason Pierre-Paul, why not kill the clock as much as possible to keep the Bears offense off the field.

I just don’t see Brady putting together a 300-yard passing performance in this one.
