There’s a full day of baseball today and we know sifting through which games to bet on can be tough. BetSided has a preview for every game on today, but there are a few games that stand out above the rest.

The BetSided crew of Matt De Saro, Josh Yourish and Reed Wallach has you covered with their favorite picks for the games today, via WynnBET Sportsbook.

Blue Jays vs. Tigers Prediction and Pick

Gausman may just have five wins in 11 starts, but that is more on the Jays' offense than him. The crafty veteran has a 2.78 ERA and 1.16 WHIP in 64 ⅔ innings pitched so far in 2022. He’s not given up more than three earned runs in a single start and allowed just two home runs all year.

The Tigers, on the other hand, are dead last in runs per game, RBI, home runs, slugging, and isolated power. Basically, everything a good team does, the Tigers don’t do.

To make matters worse, Brieske is winless with a 4.93 ERA and 1.29 WHIP this year. He’s not bad, per se, but not good enough to put the Tigers in the win column. It's a shame that the Tigers' rotation is so bad because their bullpen has the second-best ERA in the league at 2.78. Maybe because they are relaxed due to regularly pitching in games the Tigers are losing badly.

I doubt Brieske’s bad luck changes today against the Blue Jays, who rank 8th in batting average, 7th in home runs, and fifth in OBP + Slugging percentage. Fade away.

Pick: Blue Jays -1.5 (-130)

Mets vs. Angels Prediction and Pick

I don’t think that the Angels are really as bad as their 14-game losing streak, but I also don’t think they were as good as their hot start to the year.  This thing will level off eventually, especially once Mike Trout and Anthony Rendon return.  For right now, though, they may not be this bad, but they are playing this bad.  This looks like a team with no business competing with the Mets.

Los Angeles has lost Lorenzen’s last two starts and his last time out, Lorenzen gave up five earned runs over 5.2 innings.  He is clearly not the stopper that LA needs, they may have to wait for Shohei Ohtani’s turn to come up again.

Carlos Carrasco is not the best pitcher in a rotation with Max Scherzer and Taijuan Walker (deGrom when he is healthy), but he has pitched great this year and has the most wins for a reason. I think he’s going to get another one tonight.

Pick: Mets -1.5 (+120)

Red Sox vs. Mariners Prediction and Pick

Boston's recent stretch has put them over .500 at 31-28 and far away from last place in the AL East that they occupied briefly early in the season. On the year, the Red Sox are seventh in slugging percentage and are paced by a top 3 offense over the last month.

However, they may struggle to put runs on the board with Kirby on the mound. The rookie is walking less than a batter per 9 innings and is striking out nearly 9 per 9. He has even been on the wrong side of some negative variance in the field, allowing a .297 batting average in balls in play, but his ability to generate soft contact can keep this to a low scoring affair.

I don't want to back Seattle as favorites against the scorching Red Sox, though, especially with an in form Michael Wacha starting for Boston. While his FIP is nearly 2 runs higher than his ERA (1.99 vs. 3.76) I trust him to keep a lid on the Mariners offense that benefits from a high walk rate. The team is top 10 in on-base percentage, but bottom half of baseball in batting average. With Wacha's strong command (less than 3 walks per 9), I expect another low scoring meeting.

LEAN: UNDER 8 (+100)
