Game 2 of the ALCS is on Thursday night between the New York Yankees and Houston Astros, and the BetSided team has a few plays for you to consider in this matchup.

Reed Wallach is fading Luis Severino, who hasn't been great against Houston in his career, or in the playoffs in general. Meanwhile, Peter Dewey doesn't believe in the Yankees' offense against starter Framber Valdez.

Let's dive into today's picks:

New York Yankees vs. Houston Astros Odds, Prediction and Pick

Luis Severino is not known for his postseason heroics, posting a 5.17 ERA across nine starts in his big league career. He has also struggled against the Astros in six career starts against them, posting a near-4.00 ERA.

He pitched against the Astros twice in the 2017 postseason and once in the 2019 edition, failing to get out of the fifth inning all three times. For what it's worth, Houston has hit three home runs against in him those three starts and won all three games.

The Astros are as disciplined as they come at the plate, posting the second lowest strikeout rate in baseball to go with the sixth highest weighted-runs-created-plus, or wRC+. Furthermore, they walk at a top 10 rate as well.

The Yankees' bullpen is depleted at this point of the season, and once Severino is pulled before he gets through the Astros order, the Houston offense will take off. I'm playing the team total over 3.5 runs as I key in on this particular matchup.

LEAN: Astros Team Total OVER 3.5 (-125) -- Reed Wallach

Best Prop Bet for New York Yankees vs. Houston Astros in ACLS Game 2

Yankees Team Total UNDER 7.5 Hits

How many times are oddsmakers going to put this line at 7.5 and allow me to take the UNDER

I’ve been on this prop all postseason for New York, as the Yankees don’t have a single game with more than six hits. Now, they have to face a Cy Young candidate in Framber Valdez on the road.

The Astros also have the best bullpen (by ERA) in MLB. The Yankees simply are home run or nothing right now, especially against this staff.

Several of the Yankees’ hitters are struggling (Josh Donaldson, Oswaldo Cabrera, Matt Carpenter), so I’ll gladly take the UNDER in Game 2. -- Peter Dewey
