Top MLB Picks and Predictions Today (Back Starters in Phillies-Mets, Guardians-Blue Jays on Sunday)
Today's Sunday slate is jam-packed with plenty of terrific matchups across the board throughout the afternoon, leading into Sunday Night Baseball between the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox from Fenway Park.
In today's Top MLB Picks and Predictions, myself, along with BetSided's Josh Yourish have circled two of our favorite bets of the day involving some of the most underrated starters in baseball this season.

Cleveland Guardians vs. Toronto Blue Jays Odds, Prediction and Pick
Run Line: Guardians +1.5 (-170) | Blue Jays -1.5 (+140)
Moneyline: Guardians +138 | Blue Jays -148
Total: 7 (OVER -120 | UNDER +100)
I'm backing both pitchers to dominate in the early going before the bullpens have a chance to screw things up.
Gausman got off to a rough start post-All-Star break, allowing eight earned runs in 9.2 innings in his first two outings. Since August, however, he's been nails; working on a 14 inning scoreless streak; with 14 strikeouts and just one walk in two road appearances vs. the Tampa Bay Rays and Minnesota Twins. He's also faced the Guardians already this year back in mid-May, going 6.1 innings with only one earned run and five strikeouts.
Meanwhile, Bieber has also looked terrific after a rough outing vs. the Chicago White Sox after the break. Since allowing six earned runs in six innings in Chicago back on July 24; he's gone, 7,6, and 7 innings in his last three starts, striking out eight batters in all three games.
With both starters locked in, and both offenses a little bit inconsistent of late, I'll back the two studs on the mound in the early going.
LEAN: F5 UNDER 4 (-125)

Philadelphia Phillies vs. New York Mets Odds, Prediction and Pick
Run Line: Phillies +1.5 (-190) | Mets -1.5 (+155)
Moneyline: Phillies +122 | Mets -132
Total: 7 (OVER -120 | UNDER +100)
Chris Bassitt has had a phenomenal August start to the month of August; 15.0 innings over two starts and only one unearned run allowed. Frankly, you can’t be much better. Bassitt has a 3.39 ERA in 2022 after finishing in the top 10 of Cy Young voting a year ago. The Mets are also 13-8 in his starts.
Zack Wheeler hasn’t had as good of a month, but has had a terrific season overall. Excluding one hiccup on July 13 in Toronto, Wheeler hasn’t allowed more than two earned runs in a start since June. He has a 2.63 ERA, an expected ERA of 2.99, a 27.2% strikeout rate that is well above league average, and an expected slugging near the top 20% of the league.
Last night was as good of a pitcher’s duel as you can possibly imagine, but today could be nearly as good.
PICK: UNDER 7.0 (+100)
