There are several teams fighting for playoff spots in both the National and American League, and the BetSided team has a few picks involving teams like the Toronto Blue Jays, San Diego Padres and Philadelphia Phillies.

Who will take advantage and improve their playoff position? Or, is there a better bet to make on those games?

Let's jump into today's top picks, with odds from FanDuel:

Toronto Blue Jays vs. Philadelphia Phillies Odds, Prediction and Pick

The Blue Jays and the Phillies have two of the best offenses in baseball this month, so I'm going to ride the wave from yesterday and bet on more runs being scored today. Toronto ranked second in OPS in September at .801, and Philadelphia ranks fifth in OPS at .780.

Kevin Gausman gets the start for the Blue Jays today, but he's struggled as of late. He's allowed five earned runs in two-straight starts, and he's allowed at least two earned runs in five-straight starts. That's concerning, to say the least.

Zack Wheeler has also struggled in recent starts. He's allowed 10 earned runs in his last 11.1 innings pitched, so despite both pitchers usually being strong, their recent performances hints towards today being another offensive shootout.

Arizona Diamondbacks vs. Los Dodgers Odds, Prediction and Pick

Madison Bumgarner has been awful as of late, posting an 8.08 ERA over his last eight starts, and he’s allowed 64 hits 42.1 innings pitched.

Yikes.

While’s hes avoided facing the Dodgers on this stretch, I see too much value in getting the Dodgers to have a big game at plus money and score six or more runs. Over the last 15 days, Los Angeles is fifth in baseball in OPS and fourth in runs scored.

Bumgarner hasn’t had a start where he allowed fewer than three runs since July 23, and he’s allowed at least five in seven of his last nine outings.

Fade him like crazy in this matchup.

St. Louis Cardinals vs. San Diego Padres Odds, Prediction and Pick

St. Louis is going to have to overcome a lot tonight to get the win. First, the Padres have won four straight games – including a 5-0 win last night. Secondly, Miles Mikolas is 1-3 in his last five starts. Finally, the Padres are pitching Blake Snell tonight, who is coming off a fantastic 7-inning outing.

Nevertheless, I see a lot of value in the underdog Cardinals tonight. St. Louis is 3-1 SU against the Padres this season. They’ve been able to take care of business up until now and if Mikolas can have a solid outing, then everything will be just fine.

The Cardinals are 39-22 SU this season coming off of a loss. They don’t let bad performances pile up, so back them to get a stake in this series tonight.
