Here are a few of the top picks from BetSided's Peter Dewey and Reed Wallach:
Baltimore Orioles vs. Toronto Blue Jays Odds, Prediction and Pick
Both pitchers are in line for strong starts and with that in mind I'll back the under.
We'll start with Alek Manoah, who has a 2.92 ERA in four starts against the O's this season. He has pitched 24.2 innings against Baltimore, allowing eight runs in the process. The Blue Jays ace enters in excellent form as well, allowing three runs over his last 22 innings.
Meanwhile, Dean Kremer brings in great form as well. He has a 2.76 ERA over his last five appearances, posting a near three strikeout-to-walk ratio. Kremer has done well against Toronto in the past this season, limiting the Blue Jays to four earned runs across 12.1 innings of work this season.
Toronto has been hitting well, fourth in wRC+ in the month of September, but I'm going to take a shot on both pitchers winning out and take the under.
Kansas City Royals vs. Boston Red Sox Odds, Prediction and Pick
Not only have the Royals lost six straight starts by Bubic, but they have also failed to cover the run line in each of those games.
Part of it is due to a lack of run support, but the Royals also haven’t had much of a chance, as Bubic has a 7.04 ERA over that stretch. When you add those struggles to a bullpen that ranks 28th in baseball in bullpen ERA, you have a recipe for a lot of losses.
Boston has lost seven of Pivetta’s last nine starts, but he hasn’t pitched nearly as poorly as Bubic, posting a 4.21 ERA in that stretch.
The Red Sox rank 10th in Major League Baseball in OPS against left-handed pitching in 2022, so I think this is a spot to back Boston to win big against a bad Royals team.
Philadelphia Phillies vs. Atlanta Braves Odds, Prediction and Pick
The Phillies will turn to Bailey Falter in the series finale, posting a 3.10 ERA in the second half of the season. He also pitches far better on the road than at home, going from a 4.54 ERA to a 3.00 ERA away from Citizen's Bank Park.
While Spencer Strider has been fantastic this season, 2.72 ERA while striking out nearly 14 batters per nine innings, I'm going to fade him as a big favorite. The Braves lost his last time out, he allowed two earned runs in five innings, and I'll take a shot at going against him again with the Phillies offense.
The Phillies have the sixth best wRC+ while hitting .269 as a team. I'll take this offense at +190 or better against a divisional foe.
