Top NBA Picks and Predictions Today (Timberwolves To End Philly’s Win Streak)
After a crazy 11-game Friday night, we have a much simpler 5-game slate today.
Even with fewer games, BetSided still has best bets lined up for you.
Today, we’re going down to Atlanta for the Raptors-Hawks game, making our way to the northeast with Minnesota and Philly and ending our night with the Clippers and Spurs in Los Angeles.
Here are our best bets for the day.
Raptors vs. Hawks Prediction and Pick
After a hot start to the season, the Hawks have taken a slight step back. They are 2-3 SU in their last five games, have the 15th ranked defense and the 26th-ranked offense. Trae Young has had shooting woes all season, only making 30.8% of his threes. Dejounte Murray has kept them winning, but that model does not seem sustainable for the Hawks.
Meanwhile, the Raptors have won consecutive games, and have mirrored the setup opposite Atlanta. Toronto is 21st in defense and 16th in offense over the last five games.
It’s very possible the Hawks win tonight, but I’m not taking them on the spread. Even with several players being out for the Raptors, I think Fred VanVleet, OG Anunoby and Scottie Barnes will be enough to keep Toronto close. – Donnavan Smoot
Timberwolves vs. 76ers Prediction and Pick
Joel Embiid is on an absolute heater right now. He’s not who I’m worried about. I’m worried about the rest of the Sixers. Tyrese Maxey left the Bucks game with an ankle injury, leaving Philly down its top two guards. The Sixers were able to stay in the game, but that was thanks in part to Giannis Antetokounmpo missing free throws throughout the second half. I think the Sixers’ backcourt takes a step back tonight and won’t be able to provide enough offense to push them over the top.
Even with all the struggles and frustrations Minnesota has experienced, it still has Rudy Gobert manning the middle. The issue for the Timberwolves has been their inability to stop guards on the perimeter, but I don’t see anyone on Philadelphia who can do that.
Minnesota’s offense has also put up over 120 points in each of its last two games. If the offense can stay at that level, I like them to end the Sixers’ win streak tonight. – Donnavan Smoot
Spurs vs. Clippers Prediction and Pick
The Clippers have been at least a 7-point favorite four times this season. They’ve failed to cover in each of those games. Los Angeles has the worst offensive rating in the league, and that will be a major factor tonight. Even with Kawhi Leonard back in the lineup, I don’t have a lot of faith in the Clippers to become juggernauts.
Leonard played 25 minutes in his first game back and scored just six points. His workload will likely be managed again today, so I have faith San Antonio can keep the Clippers offense down.
The Spurs lost by just seven points the last time they faced the Clippers. Even with Keldon Johnson and Jokob Poeltl on the injury report, take the points and end the night with a win. – Donnavan Smoot
