Top NHL Picks and Predictions Today (Blue Jackets Upset, Panthers to Cover)
Looking to bet on the NHL on Tuesday night?
BetSided's Matt De Saro has you covered with a pair of picks to make in tonight's action, with all odds via WynnBET Sportsbook.
Maple Leafs vs. Blue Jackets Prediction and Pick
The Maple Leafs had a softball to hit last night against Montreal but whiffed big time and lost their second game in a row.
While they did end the game on a high note and dominated the final period, it wasn’t nearly enough to erase the awful game they played in the first two periods. This appears to be the Maple Leafs on the precipice of another rough patch after suffering through a few already this season.
Their issues are primarily on defense and the Blue Jackets are not the team you want to face off against when your defense is struggling. Columbus is also a very strong team on their home ice at 13-10-1. The Blue Jackets are also entering this game well-rested while their opponents are on a back-to-back.
The value here is on the Blue Jackets at home and I’m going to ride tonight in the hopes of getting back on track in the NHL.

Predators vs. Panthers Prediction and Pick
The Panthers continue to be a hard team to bet against. They have depth across the board, superstar players, solid goaltending, and have one of the most dangerous offenses in the NHL. They rank first in expected goals per game and high danger chances are created for opposing defenses to deal with.
They don’t sacrifice much on defense to be this effective in the scoring game either. While they aren’t going to win any defensive awards, the Panthers are no pushovers and can keep opponents off the scoreboard as needed. Having won seven of their last eight games and nine straight at home, this is an easy call for me.
It does not feel like a trap, though I have been fooled before. With the Predators struggling on offense, I don’t see a way they keep up with this attack.
Lean: Panthers -1.5 (+110) -- Matt De Saro
