With just two games left to decide the two remaining spots in the WNBA Playoffs, we’ve got a very intriguing four-game slate this Friday as four teams try to fight their way in.

The Minnesota Lynx, Atlanta Dream, New York Liberty and Phoenix Mercury are all 14-20; trying to edge their way to the 7 and 8-seeds. All of them are in action tonight, but where should your bets go?

Let’s follow up a 2-1 night and a recent hot streak by staying hot tonight!

Best WNBA Picks For Friday, August 12

  • Fever 1H +5.5 (-110)
  • Liberty -1.5 (-110)
  • Storm vs. Lynx OVER 164 (-110)
  • Mercury +1.5 (-110)

Mystics vs. Fever Best Bets

Washington enters the final stretch of the season sputtering with two consecutive losses, but can get back on track easily with their final two games against the dreadful Fever in a home-and-home

However, I’m going to back Indiana early in this one. Since the start of August, no team has been worse in the first half than Washington. They rank dead-last in net rating at -27.2. The team in second-to-last? The Indiana Fever at -18.4; nearly nine points ahead of Washington!

Washington needs to win their next two games to try and steal the 4-seed away from the Seattle Storm, but I’ll take the better first half team of late with a 5.5-point cushion.

PICK: Fever 1H +5.5 (-110)

Liberty vs. Dream Best Bets

The Dream by tiebreaker have the 8-seed in the four-team race for the last two playoff spots, pushing the Liberty out of the playoffs in the 9-seed for now. If New York sweeps Atlanta in their upcoming home-and-home, they’ll almost assuredly be in, and I like them to handle themselves on the road.

Since the start of August, the Liberty own the second-best defensive rating in the league. That’s a concern for an Atlanta team that can occasionally struggle to score.

Sabrina Ionescu is playing for a shot at WNBA MVP and there’s several key veterans on this team to know how to handle this situation. Give Atlanta a ton of credit for a very solid year, and Rhyne Howard is blossoming into a superstar, but in a must-win game, I’ll take New York

PICK: Liberty -1.5 (-110)

Storm vs. Lynx Best Bets

For much of the season, we’ve recognized the Storm as one of the best defensive rated teams in the league. Over the last 12 days however, they’ve actually done a complete 180; ranking first in offensive rating and 11th in defensive rating.

Minnesota also plays well on offense and have been one of the hotter teams over the last few weeks with the playoffs in sight. I expect we’ll see both teams push pace a little more than normal this evening, leading towards a pick on the over.

PICK: OVER 164 (-110)

Wings vs. Mercury Best Bets

The final game of the night is all about trying to figure out motivation. Phoenix won’t have Skylar Diggins-Smith available, and Diana Taurasi is dealing with a quad injury, but they still have an outside shot at making the postseason. Meanwhile, the Wings are locked into the 6-seed, so how much will their starters be playing, especially without Arike Ogunbowale who’s out for the rest of the regular season and the first round.

With no room for Dallas to move up or down, I’ll hope the Mercury have some pride and fight this one out at home to remain alive for a hopeful playoff spot.

PICK: Mercury +1.5 (-110)
