Peter Dewey took over the WNBA picks yesterday, and went 1-1 with his picks. The Mercury were finally able to bounce back after a string of bad losses and cover with ease.

There’s only two games on today, with a defensive battle set to happen in Washington and a pick’em game in Minnesota. I’m ready to dive into the picks for tonight, so let’s get to it.

Best WNBA Picks For Tuesday, June 28

  • Dream/Mystics UNDER 154.5 (-110)
  • Wings ML vs. Lynx (-110)

Dream vs. Mystics Best Bets

There is no way this game hits the OVER. These are the two best defenses in the league, according to defensive rating. The Dream and Mystics have played twice this year, and each game’s total was below this line. It’s clear the Mystics are a bad matchup for the Dream, making Washington a solid play on the spread as well.

Atlanta is also the worst offense in the league. It’s last in offensive rating and points per game, despite being one of the fastest teams in the league. Both teams hit the UNDER more often than the OVER, so I’m going to back that stat and take the UNDER.

Pick: UNDER 154.5

Wings vs. Lynx Best Bets

I don’t quite understand why this matchup is a pick’em. I know it’s going to take place in Minnesota, but Dallas is still the better squad. The Wings play at a faster pace, have a better offensive and defensive rating and have nearly double the wins the Lynx do.

A majority of Minnesota’s wins have come against the Mercury and Liberty. Unless they are playing other bottom-of-the-barrell teams in the WNBA, I don’t trust the Lynx.
