Fresh off of the U.S. Open, the golf world turns its focus to a place near and dear to my heart, my hometown of Cromwell, Connecticut for the Travelers Championship at TPC River Highlands.

TPC River Highlands is usually a great break for golfers from the treacherous U.S. Open course, as scores will be much lower than they were this past week.

It's a quick turnaround for the PGA Tour as this is an elevated event.

There are four Par 3 holes at TPC River Highlands, which will be the chances for golfers to pick up an ace (there is also a chance on the driveable Par 4 15th).

Let’s break down the odds for a hole-in-one to happen this week, as well as my pick:

Travelers Championship Hole-in-One Odds

Since Travelers took over as the sponsor of the tournament in 2007, there have been 20 hole-in-ones at TPC River Highlands, including two in the 2021 tournament.

The course is certainly one that golfers can score on, but getting an ace is a whole different animal.

Here are the distances of each of the Par 3s at TPC River Highlands:

  • Hole 5: 223 yards
  • Hole 8: 202 yards
  • Hole 11: 158 yards
  • Hole 16: 171 yards

The 11th may be the easiest one to attack, as it’s downhill and the shortest hole that can allow golfers to really go pin seeking.

While No. 16 is on the shorter side, the Green has multiple levels, making it tougher depending on the pin location for the day.

That being said, I think we’re due for an ace after there wasn’t one in 2022.

Prior to that tournament, the Travelers Championship had produced an ace in 2021, 2020, 2018, 2017, 2016 and 2015.

Let’s bet on it happening again.
