Trevor Lawrence wants to go full throttle, but a hamstring injury has held the No. 1 overall pick back in camp.

The Jacksonville Jaguars are playing it safe with their prized quarterback, but Lawrence admitted the challenge of trying to hold himself back on the field.

“It’s feeling good. It’s been about a week. Just trying to work it back to full capacity,” Lawrence said in a press conference. “It’s a little frustrating just not being able to go full speed. I’m feeling good and just trying to not have any more setbacks, so taking it slow. Got some good reps today, so start getting more and more each day this week and just kinda work back into it. It’s doing great. Try to work it back.”

Lawrence admitted that he will need to work on chemistry with his receivers in training camp since he has been a full participant, but he should have no problem getting up to speed in time for the season.

Lawrence has the top odds on WynnBET to be named the NFL’s Offensive Rookie of the Year at +275, and as long as he’s healthy, he’s going to remain the favorite to win the award heading into the 2021 season.

Justin Fields, Trey Lance and Zach Wilson are the next three on the odds list, but Fields and Lance don’t have direct paths to the starting job in Week 1.

The Jaguars only won one game last season, but Lawrence’s presence has completely changed the tone around the franchise. The Jags are favored to win over six games in 2021 (-135) which is a huge leap from the 1-15 season they had in 2020.

Lawrence will have some solid weapons at his disposal in D.J. Chark, Marvin Jones Jr., James Robinson and Travis Etienne. Jacksonville is hoping for a quick rebuild after it made the AFC Championship Game in 2018.

With new head coach Urban Meyer, Lawrence and roster hopeful Tim Tebow, there is no shortage of storylines in Jacksonville. Once the franchise quarterback is completely healthy, expect him to turn heads at camp and into the 2021 season.
