Trevor Lawrence is a one-of-a-kind prospect, and he now has all of Jacksonville to carry on his shoulders. It’s rare that a player is good enough to be tabbed the savior of a franchise, but Lawrence has been on the minds of Jaguars fans ever since their path to the No.1 pick became clear.

Jacksonville lost 15 straight games last season to get the privilege of making Lawrence its franchise quarterback, and Vegas is already starting to believe in the Jags and new head coach Urban Meyer.

WynnBET has the Jaguars projected to win 6.5 games in 2021, and the over (-135) is favored to the under (+115). Talk about the Lawrence effect. Jacksonville was hapless for most of the 2020 campaign, but it now could make a push to get over .500 in the NFL’s 17-game season.

It’s no surprise that Lawrence is also WynnBET’s favorite to win the Offensive Rookie of the Year award, as he has +275 odds to win the award. The next closest player is Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields at +525.

Jaguars fans have major hopes for Lawrence, and it is a positive sign that Vegas already thinks that Lawrence will have a major impact on the Jaguars in 2021. Jacksonville also made some major moves in free agency, as it signed cornerback Shaquill Griffin and wideout Marvin Jones Jr.

Franchise changing quarterbacks don’t come around every year, but when one is as highly regarded as Lawrence (arguably the most highly-regarded quarterback since Andrew Luck), it's hard not to expect him to change the team considerably.

The Jags have a solid young core around Lawrence on offense with James Robinson, Travis Etienne, D.J. Chark and Laviska Shenault. It’s unlikely that they make the playoffs in Lawrence’s first season (WynnBET has them at +300 to make it), but if they show steady improvement it will be a sign of things to come in Duval County.
