Trevor Lawrence vs. Carson Wentz: Who Will Throw For More Yards?

The Indianapolis Colts are fighting to get back into the AFC playoff picture and need every win along the way to do so. This week they’ll be playing the Jacksonville Jaguars, who are coming off a huge upset of the Buffalo Bills.

The Colts' offense is powered by Jonathan Taylor and the Jaguars will likely have to get the job done via their defense, but the quarterback matchup in this game is still intriguing enough to put them on center stage.

WynnBET has Carson Wentz’s player prop for passing yards at 250.5 (Over: -125/Under: -115) and Trevor Lawrence’s line at 238.5 (Over: -125/Under: -115).

I think Lawrence loses the battle with Wentz, but I do think both of these quarterbacks hit the under on their lines.

Wentz surpassed his line last week of 242.5 yards against the Jets, but that was the first time in nearly a month he’d cleared that number. Also, he was playing the Jets. Wentz, as long as Jonathan Taylor is playing well, is a game manager and serves to keep the defense honest. He isn’t going to be throwing the ball all around the field, and I see this line as an overreaction to his game last week.

The Jaguars are coming off a great performance against the Bills and while I don’t expect them to pull off another upset, they can certainly maintain that defensive momentum to carry the offense..

When it comes to Trevor Lawrence, he hasn’t cleared this line in five of his last seven games. The Jaguars’ offense has been particularly dormant these last two weeks and Lawrence hasn’t been able to get it going.

The Colts passing defense is in the bottom third of the league in opponent passing yards per game, but Lawrence and the Jaguars have proven they can’t be trusted to consistently put up yards or points.

This game should be a slow game and I see both quarterbacks not living up to Vegas’ expectations.
