For years, I've anxiously waited for the San Francisco 49ers to finally invest in a real, actual quarterback.

It was obvious to anyone paying attention that Jimmy Garoppolo was not the answer, but he's handsome or whatever so his complete inability to play football didn't matter.

Enter Trey Lance. Moving from an inaccurate, immobile quarterback to a speed-demon with a cannon is like upgrading your Wi-Fi to the deluxe package. You never even knew all the things you could do at once, but now you'll never go back to dial-up again.

With two years to prepare his offense for Lance, Kyle Shanahan's creative genius should be on full display. I can't wait to see what he comes up with, and I think Lance gets off to a hot start as Shanahan giddily deploys new wrinkles.

I've never understood what the Packers saw in Jordan Love. While their running game should look good tonight, I don't trust Love against the 49ers defense.
