The Miami Dolphins are one of two teams in the NFL with a perfect 3-0 record this season, and quarterback Tua Tagovailoa's play has been a big reason why.

Through three games, Tagovailoa has throw for eight touchdowns, just two interceptions and 925 yards while completing 71.3% of his passes.

After briefly leaving the team's Week 3 win over the Buffalo Bills, Tagovailoa returned to help Miami upset the Super Bowl favorites, 21-19. The win, and Tagovailoa's numbers so far this season, has led to him launching up the MVP odds at various sportsbooks.

He has moved to +1400 at Caesars Sportsbook and +1700 at FanDuel Sportsbook for his play through the first few weeks.

Should You Buy Tua Tagovailoa as an MVP Candidate?

Betting on Tagovailoa as an MVP candidate is an interesting case, as you are almost also betting that he and the Dolphins will win the AFC East this season. With the way Josh Allen, the MVP favorite, has played, the Dolphins will almost certainly need to have a better record than the Bills for Tagovailoa to edge Allen in this award.

That being said, under new head coach Mike McDaniel, Tagovailoa has looked like the franchise quarterback the team expected he'd be when it took him with the No. 5 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle have proven to be one of the league's best receiving duos through the first three weeks of the season, and Tagovailoa has lived up to Hill's proclamation that he is one of the league's most accurate quarterbacks.

Tagovailoa's odds have been cut by more than half since the start of the season, but the momentum is there for him. If you're willing to take the risk on Miami winning the division this season, then it's understandable if you justify Tua as the league's MVP.
