Can you get any hotter than the Los Angeles Dodgers right now?

Los Angeles is in the midst of a nine-game winning streak, improving to 76-33 on the season, and has been absolutely dominant over this stretch winning each game by two or more runs. They've also gone 27-3 over their last 30 games!

The Twins are in trouble, as back-to-back losses have moved them into a tie with the Cleveland Guardians atop the AL Central. They’ll need starter Sonny Gray (6-3, 3.19 ERA) to stop the bleeding on Wednesday.

Ryan Pepiot makes his fifth start of the season for the Dodgers in what will probably be a bullpen game. Pepiot has thrown just 16.1 innings in his first four outings in 2022.

Here are the odds from WynnBET for this game:

Twins vs. Dodgers Odds, Run Line and Total

Run Line:

  • Twins +1.5 (-140)
  • Dodgers -1.5 (+115)

Moneyline:

  • Twins: +152
  • Dodgers: -165

Total:

  • 9 (Over -105/Under -115)

Twins vs. Dodgers Prediction and Pick

Blindly bet the Dodgers and don’t look back?

I’m not going to do it blindly, but it’s been an unreal strategy this season, especially over this last stretch. The Dodgers are 68-41 on the run line this season, which is amazing since they are favored in just about every game.

This won’t be an easy win, as Sonny Gray has been great since the All-Star break for Minnesota, allowing just two earned runs over 16.0 innings (three starts). That being said, Minnesota still lost his last start after the bullpen gave up nine runs over the final four innings of a loss to the Toronto Blue Jays.

Even with Los Angeles going to a bullpen game, the Dodgers are fourth in baseball in bullpen ERA this season, so they should be fine if Pepiot can keep them in the game early.

A plus-money run line for the Dodgers? Why not, they seem to cover every night anyway.

Lean: Dodgers -1.5 (+115)
