Twins vs. Guardians Prediction and Odds for Thursday, June 30 (Side With Chris Archer and Underdog Minnesota)
By Matt De Saro
ln what might be the most important game on the schedule today, the top two teams in the AL Central go head to head.
The Minnesota Twins currently lead the division by a couple of games over the Cleveland Guardians. Cleveland is dealing with a bit of a slump and lost four in a row in the lead up to this current series. Cleveland also dropped two of the first three games of this pivotal five-game set. With a strong pitching matchup headlining this game, this series is just getting warmed up.

Twins vs. Guardians Prediction and Pick
The Twins may be underdogs on the road here, but with Chris Archer on the mound, I like their chances to come through. Archer may be just 2-3 with a 3.14 ERA on the year, but he’s been heating up all month and looks very good right now.
Forget midseason form, Archer is in vintage form and is having his best season since 2015. He’s been even better in June with a 1.57 ERA in his last five starts with two shutouts. Archer’s career numbers against this lineup are great including a .175 batting average and .566 OPS.
The Twins have a lot going on the mound tonight but might have a tough time with Shane Bieber here. Bieber is having a strong season with a 3.04 ERA and 1.16 WHIP in 85 innings. But Bieber has been a bit inconsistent this season despite strong metrics. He posted a 4.07 ERA in May, and after a strong start to June, was hit hard in his last three games. Bieber allowed eight runs over his last three starts after shutting out Texas on June 8.
Pick: Twins ML +143
