Twins vs. Red Sox Prediction and Odds for Friday, April 15 (Take The Over In Bean Town)
By Matt De Saro
The Minnesota Twins are on the road in Beantown on Friday to kick off a four-game series against the Boston Red Sox. It marks the home opener for the Red Sox who have played the first six games of the season on the road. Boston split those first six games but is 3-1 in their last four. Their offense woke up against the Tigers and totaled 14 runs in their final two games.
The Twins, meanwhile, are off to a slow start considering how much work they did to improve during the offseason. They fall right around the middle in both offense and defense despite the addition of Carlos Correa and others.

Twins vs. Red Sox Prediction and Pick
It’s hard to ignore the emotion that comes along with a home opener. The Red Sox haven’t looked great to start the year, but a big win at home can turn that around quickly. However, there is one big issue with that plan. His name is Nick Pivetta. The righty got lit up in his first start of the season against the Yankees in a 4-2 loss. Pivetta coughed up four runs over 5 ⅔ innings while walking three and striking out four. It wasn’t a horrible outing, but Pivetta will need to snap back to form if he hopes to stay in the rotation long-term.
Joe Ryan gets the start for the Twins after giving up two runs off two hits to the Mariners in a 2-1 loss on Friday. Ryan struck out four and walked four in four innings pitched. He was pretty inefficient as it took him 70 pitches to go through 19 batters.
While these teams have a combined O/U record of 3-8-1, I think we could see some big numbers on the scoreboard tonight. The Red Sox offense scored 14 runs in their last two games combined and will be hyped to play their first game at Fenway.
Pick: OVER 10.5 (-105)
