It's time for the third major golf tournament of the year, the U.S. Open.

The best golfers in the world, including those who have been competing with LIV, will be teeing off at Los Angeles Country Club.

Let's take a look at the odds to win and then I'll give you my three favorite bets. If you want to find out all of my best bets this week, check out this week's episode of the Bacon Bets Podcast.

Odds to Win the U.S. Open

Best Bets for the U.S. Open

Viktor Hovland to win +1600

Viktor Hovland has the lowest combined score amongst all golfers over the past three majors at 27-under par. That's seven shots better than the next best golfer, who is Scottie Scheffler at -20.

That's not the main reason I love Hovland this week. The biggest thing I'm targeting is how strong Hovland has been out of the rough this season. In fact, he leads the field in proximity to the hole when his approach shot is from the rough.

At a course set up by the USGA, being good from the rough is absolutely pivotal.

He's also been in great form, coming off a win at The Memorial Tournament.

Tyrrell Hatton to win +3300

If I were to ask you who the top golfers in total strokes gained are on the PGA Tour, you'd probably correct the top two names being Scottie Scheffler and Jon Rahm. What you might not guess is that it's Tyrrell Hatton who comes in at number three on the list. He's also third in scoring average.

Hatton is also 32nd in rough proximity, 14th in bogey avoidance, and 11th in scrambling percentage. He's also in great form, finishing one stroke short of the playoff at last week's Canadian Open.

We can get 33/1 odds on the third best statistical golfer on Tour? Count me in.

Patrick Reed Top 20 +220

If you want a bet that's not an outright winner pick, could I interest you in a Patrick Reed Top 20 bet?

We don't have the amount of stats for Reed as we have for PGA Tour golfers, but he has been sneakily strong in the first two majors this year. He finished T4 at The Masters and then T18 at the PGA Championship. He has also finished in the top 20 at the US Open in two of the last three years.

At +220, I love him to finish at the Top 20 once again.
