The UC Davis Aggies play an afternoon matchup with the Boston University Terriers on Monday, Nov. 28.

UC Davis comes into this game with a 5-2 record, losing to Loyola Marymount and Milwaukee. The Terriers have also lost to Milwaukee, and they enter this matchup at 4-3 on the season.

Junior guard Elijah Pepper (21.3 points per game) leads Jim Les’ Aggies squad, but the Terriers are the more veteran team, with their top seven scorers being juniors or seniors this season.

KenPom projects this as a win for the Aggies, but is there value on a side in the betting market?

Here’s the latest odds for the afternoon showdown:

UC Davis vs. Boston University Prediction and Pick

These two teams play very conflicting styles, as the Aggies love to push the tempo (ninth in the NCAA in adjusted tempo) while the Terriers are 275th in the same statistic.

It makes sense that UC Davis is favored in this game, as the team ranks 35th in the country in effective field goal percentage and 19th in 3-point percentage.

Boston University is going to have a hard time keeping up in this game, with the team’s offense ranking 338th in effective field goal percentage, 345th in 3-point percentage and 284th in adjusted offensive efficiency.

I wanted to take the OVER in this game, since UC Davis has cleared or landed on 140 points in six of its seven games, but I simply can’t get behind this Terriers offense to get it there.

The team has five games this season where it has failed to clear 65 points, and with a short spread of 4.5, we’d need a UC Davis blowout to get to the OVER if BU scores in the mid to low 60s.

Instead, I’ll back the sharpshooting Aggies to win this game going away.
