UC Irvine vs. San Diego State Prediction and Odds for Tuesday, November 29 (Aztecs Overvalued?)
By Reed Wallach
A battle of west coast conference title contenders goes down in San Diego when UC Irvine takes the trip to face San Diego State, who is returning home from their run at the Maui Invitational.
The Anteaters have taken down a ranked foe already this season on the road in Oregon and would love to continue to build their non-conference resume with a competitive showing against San Diego State. How will the formidable Aztecs do at home laying double digits?

UC Irvine vs. San Diego State Prediction and Pick
The Anteaters are a stout defensive team that should be able to limit what has been an up-tempo San Diego State offense thus far. SDSU is averaging the 19th fastest possession length on offense this season while posting a slightly above average effective field goal percentage (50.7%).
The team is always going to pride itself on the defensive side of the ball, 15th in KenPom's adjusted defensive efficiency, but this is a exceptional Anteaters offense that is shooting 41% from beyond the arc this season. They are protecting the ball well, a 17% turnover rate is 112th in the country and they are 74th in offensive rebounding rate.
UC Irvine's ability to limit San Diego State to one trip will be impactful here. The team is top 10 in defensive rebounding percentage and plays a compact defense that will force the Aztecs into contested jumpers all game.
After traveling back from Maui and playing in their first game against a mid-major team following games against Arizona, Ohio State and Arkansas, I'll grab UC Irvine at a big number.
